Basements are used for anything from storage to a completely functional room and need to be waterproof no matter the actual use. Even for those who use their basements for storage still need to prevent flooding and water damage.
There are many basement waterproofing products and methods out there, each with their advantages and disadvantages. While every basement will benefit from being completely waterproof, not everyone uses the method that will give them just that. To keep your basement waterproof and prevent basement flooding, you need a waterproofing material that is effective, durable, and long-lasting.

Concrete is a solid flooring material, but it’s not impermeable. While it doesn’t look like it, concrete is actually a quite porous material. Concrete surfaces have numerous tiny pores. While these pores allow concrete to effectively “breathe”, they also allow moisture to get through to the surface.

A water garden can be a great addition to any home. In the last post, we covered how to maintain your water garden in Winter and Spring months. Now we’re going to cover how to maintain your water garden during the Summer and Fall.
Summer will require the most maintenance from you.
Start out by dividing and thinning any overgrown plants so they don’t completely overtake your garden. Pests are a bigger threat during the summer, so do what you can to keep them away.
This is also the time to regularly maintain your water garden from leaves and debris. If there are any leaves in the garden, rake them to the edge and let them sit for a bit to allow any life on them to get back into the water. Also keep your pump filter cleaned to avoid blockage. Water will evaporate a lot during the summer, so regularly check the water levels and add water when needed.
If you see your fish gasping for air at the water surface, install a fountain to shoot water in the air and aerates the water. This will keep your water garden oxygenated for your fish. (more…)
Nothing is more enjoyable than relaxing out by the pool on a hot summer day. A pool is an enjoyable addition to any backyard, but they do require some work to keep them in pristine condition. One of your responsibilities as an owner is opening your pool for the season so you can enjoy those hot summer days later on. Unfortunately, opening a pool for the season isn’t as easy as removing the cover and diving in, it requires a little more than that. But once you open your pool, and you do it right, you’ll enjoy your pool all summer long.
Step 1: Don’t Empty Your Swimming Pool
Unless you need to do major structural work, there’s no need to empty it. Even in cold winter months, water in a pool can be useful. Sometimes draining it can cause big problems in areas with a high water, as the outside water pressure can actually push on the walls and dislodge it from its placement. This could lead to your entire pool needing reinstalled. It’s best to keep it filled during the winter and just put a cover over top of it. If you pool was damaged over the winter and you have found cracks SANI-TRED® waterproofing products are perfect for swimming pool repair. The best part about The SANI-TRED® System is that you can do it yourself, as soon as this weekend!
