Thoroseal Versus Sani-Tred

Thoroseal and SANI-TRED® are both waterproofing products. Both are designed to seal against dampness, and to provide a dense, waterproof barrier. Both products are also designed to resist abrasion, weathering, and peeling.

On the decorative side, SANI-TRED® is manufactured in an array of colors including white, grey, tan, and black. With the broadcasting of quartz, colored flakes, ect.., a plain floor can be very eye-pleasing and waterproofed as well. If decorative is not a concern, Thoroseal waterproofing provides only one color...white.

As far as crack repair is concerned, Thoroseal waterproofing uses a hydraulic cement. Hydraulic cement is known for it's lack of flexibility and rigidness, which will keep cracks repaired for a limited time. On the other hand, SANI-TRED® uses a rubberized product with 600% elongation, therefore being able to actually "move" with the shifting of the substrate itself. This provides SANI-TRED® with the ability to provide a Lifetime Warranty verses a Limited Warranty to buyers.

Radon gas is a worldwide health risk in homes, and is the second most important cause of lung cancer after smoking in many countries. SANI-TRED testing has shown that SANI-TRED products are 99% effective in preventing radon gas leakage, thus creating a healthier and cleaner home environment. This is a claim that few "waterproofing" products can make.
